Featured in Ruffled Blog: Miguel & Wes’ Wedding

In June 2017, as if by some sort of gravitational pull (at least in their minds!), Miguel flew to DC on the same weekend that Wes was visiting his grandmother in Fredericksburg, VA. Thanks to the invention of TINDER, being this close to one another allowed them to see each other online. It started a brief conversation to say hi, both asking themselves if they really wanted to start talking to someone who lived on the other side of the country. But the draw was there, each thinking the other was really different (and yes, HOT!). Small online chats turned into long phone conversations and FaceTime sessions, hours long. They learned about one another. From that point forward, although often separated by distance, Miguel and Wes have been emotionally “inseparable”.


Since Miguel is from Las Vegas & Wes is from Virginia, we wanted to blend the two worlds into one for their wedding day. We landed on Springs Preserve in Las Vegas as the venue because of its natural beauty. We brought a little bit of a southern vibe into the reception by incorporating rustic hints like the tables and chairs. One of the sweetest touches of the evening was the pie station. Both Miguel and Wes wanted to do pies in lieu of a wedding cake to bring in that southern touch. Guests danced the night away on the dance floor & ended the night with silly pictures in their photo booth!
